Ways to Serve
Welcome Team
The welcome team are an integral part of the Sunday morning experience at NBUC. Making new and returning attendees feel welcome and seen is a top priority; everyone who walks through the doors is cared for and seen by God, and we aim to reflect this! Welcome team members are blessed by blessing others with a friendly greeting and genuine care.
If you have a gift for hospitality and care deeply for others, this is the place for you! Whether in the parking lot, at the front door, or in the building, you will have endless opportunities to connect with others and share the love of Christ.
Soul Cafe
At Soul Cafe, filling cups is filling hearts! If you take pride in making a good brew and love to connect with others in a genuine way, serve through the cafe on Sunday mornings. Each Sunday cafe service is an opportunity to share your passion for hospitality while contributing to our mission of making everyone who walks through the doors feel welcome and warm.
Not only will you gain valuable skills in customer service and teamwork, but you'll also witness firsthand the positive impact of your efforts - helping to fund church programs, support local charities, and create a welcoming space for fellowship. Discover the joy of being part of something greater, where every interaction is a chance to share love and kindness.
Online Hosting
NBUC aims to be 100% in person and 100% online, offering support, growth and genuine connection to everyone who walks through our doors or joins online.
If you have a gift for conversation and connection, join the online hosting team! This is a perfect opportunity to serve if you’re unable to attend in person but want to join others in connection remotely. Share and grow with others as you keep them in the loop on all the things happening around NBUC, forming meaningful connections with online attendees each week.
Tech Team
Love to push buttons? Join our Sunday morning tech team! Volunteering in this role is not just about managing equipment; it's about enhancing the worship experience for our congregation, both online and in person. Whether you’re operating sound, setting up visuals, or monitoring the online stream, your contributions ensure that every service is engaging and accessible to all.
Working with a passionate and personable team, you’ll learn valuable technical skills and gain hands-on experience in audio-visual production, while connecting with others who share your commitment to creating an impactful worship experience.
Meet your tech leads
Dave Pelvin has a gift for tech and a love for anything with buttons & lights. As tech lead, he manages the audio/visual aspects of services & events. With a quirky, down-to-earth personality and a positive, uplifting attitude, he leads the tech team with genuine care and a get-it-done energy.
Stephen Bennet and Matt Grosso are the audio specialist dream duo! Between front-of-house sound and livestream audio, they ensure that services & events are accessible and sound great, enhancing the worship experience for those in person and online. There’s no shortage of fun with these two around!
Worship Team
Worship is a time of connection with God, a deep spiritual experience shared by congregation members and attendees both online and in person. Music and singing fill us spiritually and open our hearts and ears in preparation for the message. Participating in and leading worship is an experience full of Holy-Spirit energy!
If you have skills and a passion for music, join Duncan and Leah on Wednesday nights for the weekly worship music meet, where you’ll have the opportunity to grow your musical skills and finesse in the company of other worship music enthusiasts. Bring your instrument or voice and get involved in a fantastic community of musicians!
Meet your worship leads
Duncan Boudreau and Leah Holtom are our worship leaders. These professionally trained singer-musicians are brimming with a passion for music and worship that spills out readily into their leadership on stage, filling hearts and spirits with Holy Spirit energy.

Family Ministries
If you love to work with kids & youth, fostering their faith and helping them grow as young followers of Christ, join our Family Ministries team!
Our K.I.D.S. ministry embraces children from birth to age 12; Kindling their faith, Igniting their love of others & Christ, helping them Discover their life of faith, and supporting their Spiritual growth.
Our Fx3 youth ministry is for youth 13-17. The three Fs are Friendship, Faith, and Food; join the youth during Sunday service and enjoy breakfast together. Fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and caring environment for young people is a passion for us!
Meet your family ministry leads
Monique and Kat are both passionate about fostering a love of Christ and a caring spirit in NBUC’s youngest generation. Inspiring the next generation to go out into the world and share Jesus’ message of hope while caring for one another is a top priority in Family Ministries, along with connecting with others and having fun!
Help deliver age-appropriate programming on a Sunday morning, care for children in the nursery, or help carry out fun events through our Family Ministry.
Outreach
Supporting the community is an integral part of who we are. From food and clothing drives to seasonal community care projects, we are called to be Jesus’ hands and feet in Brampton and beyond, bringing care where it’s needed.
