Community Network Lead
The Journey has received a three-year United Way grant to engage and empower our community through the establishment of Community Action Groups, expansion of our programming and services, building community capacity to address chronic challenges and to respond to issues such as racism, human trafficking and housing.
We are looking for an individual, who has a passion for a challenged community and is ready to engage in a significant outreach initiative.
Responsibilities Include:
- Identify and recruit community members to establish Community Action Groups (CAG)
- Oversee the expansion of community programming
- Build community capacity to address chronic issues
- Develop responses to issues (i.e. racism, human trafficking, housing)
- Recruit community communicators
- Conduct community meetings
- Facilitate inter-agency collaborative meetings
Qualifications Include:
- Diploma or equivalent in social sector work and/or equivalent experience
- Community service experience
- ]Leadership experience
- ]Experience recruiting and managing community leaders/volunteers
- Passion for making social change
